Xbox One Backward Compatibility program latest news: Download 'Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse' before it disappears forever
A couple of classic Xbox 360 games have been added to the ever-growing catalog of the Xbox One Backward Compatibility program by Microsoft.
The first addition is "Forza Horizon," the hit racing game first released in the Xbox 360 four years ago. It was also one of the free games in the Xbox Games with Gold lineup for the month of September.
The title was a big hit when it came out in 2012 and was generally received positively by gamers. Now, Xbox One players will finally be able to experience the Video Game Awards nominated driving game through Xbox One Backward Compatibility Program.
Its addition also comes as the latest iteration of the hit racing game series – "Forza Horizon 3" goes gold, which means it will be released in its designated launch date, Sept. 27.
The other game set for its Xbox One debut is "Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse." However, unlike "Forza Horizon," this two and a half-decade-old Sega game will only be downloadable today, Sept. 1.
The classic platform game, initially released in 1990, is being delisted the next day, Sept. 2, which means that it will no longer be for sale ever.
Unless gamers act quickly, they will miss the chance to secure their copy of the gem of an Xbox One Backward Compatibility addition. After being delisted, it won't be available anywhere else after that.
"Forza Horizon" and "Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse" certainly won't be the final games that will be added in the Xbox One Backward Compatibility program.
Ever since it was launched in November, it became an instant hit and the catalog just kept growing. One of the recent biggest releases is "Red Dead Redemption" by Rockstar Games.
The sequel to the beloved 2010 western shooter is still yet to be official, so it was certainly amazing for Xbox One players to get the chance to play the blockbuster game.
