WWE Rumors: WWE perfectly happy with AJ Styles as champion
After already winning the WWE World Championship at Backlash, it appears that the professional wrestling company has big plans for AJ Styles.
It was a spectacular show for the SmackDown Live brand, with different titles changing hands. Undoubtedly the biggest news on that day was Styles defeating former champion Dean Ambrose after hitting him with a Styles Clash to claim the victory.
Of course, it was filled with controversy as Styles got to hit his finishing move after a low blow to Ambrose that the referee missed. But the result written in history books report that Styles is the champion.
At the moment, Styles is set to defend his title against John Cena and Ambrose in a triple threat match at WWE No Mercy, but it seems that Styles' reign is still far from over.
Rumors are circulating that WWE brass and the locker room are impressed with Styles and believe that he is set for a lengthy reign. That could mean that it may not change hands at No Mercy and the feud with Ambrose and Cena may be far from over.
CageSide Seats also reported that the WWE heads are very happy with how Styles is handling his championship title at the moment. His brash stance is really causing the WWE fan base to react to him.
With SmackDown Live trying to improve its ratings and be at par with Monday Night Raw, having a champion that commands attention, whether good or bad, is a necessity and something that Styles can definitely do.
Before his arrival in the WWE, Styles was linked to the brand and has had a huge following with his stints with other wrestling companies like TNA. His arrival in the WWE was met with positive reactions from the fans and even if Styles is currently booked as a heel, he is still one of the most popular figures in the roster.
