WWE Rumors update: Heath Slater and Rhyno riding surprising wave in WWE
In the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), there are main storylines and there are side stories that catch the viewer's eye.
And most recently, the top free agent Heath Slater and Rhyno have taken the wrestling world by storm and are quickly becoming one of the more popular tag teams in the WWE.
After looking to get employed in SmackDown Live, Slater wanted to join the Tag Team Tournament but was lacking one important aspect to take part, a tag team.
General Manager Daniel Bryan and Commissioner Shane McMahon agreed to have Slater join if he manages to find a willing teammate, and he found it with Rhyno.
They were pitted against WWE legends The Headbangers and pulled off an impressive victory.
The off-beat tag team immediately grabbed the fans' attention, and it seems that the WWE are capitalizing on the overnight success that the two have gained.
WWE reported that Rhyno suffered a nasty cut in their match and needed eight stitches to close up the wound. It showed just how hungry the two men were to get back on the high horse on SmackDown.
In fact, an article from Inquisitr claimed that the company is pushing the wave currently being made by the odd-couple as they are en route to becoming the first tag-team champions in the "new era" of SmackDown Live.
If this holds true, then Slater would have gotten his wish of becoming a big name in the industry, and Rhyno will, again, relive his past highs as the two carry the tag-team beacon in the brand.
The two have also appeared in a video from the WWE, as shown in Wrestle Zone, where they have a comical interview in "Talking Smack" with Renee Young and Daniel Bryan. The video showed the two joking around on how they immediately became best friends, and this is a comical injection that the company may need to help push it towards a new wave of viewers.
