WWE Rumors: Big matches set for 'Night of Champions'
This new era of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is very intriguing as the two brands, Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live, will have their separate pay-per-view (PPV) events.
With an ever-growing roster, it is only right that this would happen so that it would give other superstars the chance to go over.
And while SmackDown Live may be on its way up, the main attraction at the moment is still Raw
This September, SmackDown Live has Backlash, while Raw will have Night of Champions.
Looking at what Raw will offer, it appears that the pay-per-view event is going to be an excellent one.
Inquisitr already reported that there are three title matches in the PPV event, with one being Kevin Owens defending his Universal Championship against Seth Rollins.
It appears that this is already a stacked main event, but Roman Reigns has entered into the conversation.
If he gets to beat Owens in a non-title match-up, then the Universal Championship match-up at Night of Champions may become a three-way battle involving the three stars.
Aside from that, the Women's Championship is also on the line as the growing rivalry between Charlotte and Sasha Banks hits an all-time high.
At the moment, Charlotte is the champion, but Banks is looking for redemption and is definitely the crowd favorite.
Finally, the Tag-Team Championships will be fought by the New Day as they try to defend against The Club.
This is a long-standing rivalry and one that should promise action on the Night of Champions.
However, there are still a lot of possible match-ups that would excite the fans, as suggested by Bleacher Report.
One is the best-of-seven series between Sheamus and Cesaro. At the moment, Sheamus leads 3–0 but it will be foolish to think that this will end in a sweep.
Another interesting battle would be Braun Strowman going up against the Big Show.
Since arriving to Raw, Strowman has been dominant and will need an opponent equally sized as him to create a challenge.
These are only a few of the proposed battles, but fans are now eagerly anticipating this pay-per-view event.
