WWE 'Monday Night Raw' News: Snoop Dogg Returning Ahead of WrestleMania 31
After almost six years, rapper Snoop Dog will return to WWE to appear on its "Monday Night Raw" on March 23 leading up to WrestleMania 31 scheduled a week later on March 29.
WWE confirmed that the legendary West Coast rapper will appear on the flagship program after hosting it in October 2009 and March 2008.
The rapper's wrestling stint next week is among his non-music appearances including being one of the roasters for the Comedy Central Roast of pop star Justin Bieber.
Snoop Dogg will be coming from an event in Austin, Texas, where he will serve as a keynote speaker at the SXSW Arts Festival on March 20 before showing the tricks he learned for WWE.
The 43-year-old is keeping busy ahead of the release of "Bush," his 13th solo album slated for release on May 12.
Snoop Dogg, who had sold more than 35 million albums worldwide over the past 20 years, had Pharrell Williams produce his album which will be released by Columbia Records.
His album's first single, "Peaches N Cream" featuring Charlie Wilson, is out now, and the entire album is available for pre-order.
Snoop Dogg will also make a cameo on Fox's "Empire" for the season finale, playing himself on Wednesday.
The "Gin and Juice" singer recently shared the spotlight with his son, Cordell Broadus, in a five-part docu-series on ESPN.
In "Snoop & Son," the show follows the teenager's quest to become a college football player.
His appearance will come after The Daily Show host Jon Stewart also hosted "Raw," having a beef with Seth Rollins.
Snoop Dog is following in the footsteps of an impressive list of recent guest hosts on "Monday Night Raw," including Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, and Betty White.
