'WWE 2K17' DLC news: Future Stars Pack coming this week; game's PC version set for February outing
The long-awaited Future Stars downloadable content (DLC) pack for "WWE 2K17" will be released on Tuesday, Jan. 17, developer 2K Games has announced.
The "WWE 2K17" DLC will add to the roster of the game both NXT and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) stars, namely Austin Aries, Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, Mojo Rawley and Tye Dillinger.
Anderson and Gallows can be seen in action currently on the small screen on "WWE Raw" while Rawley is currently part of the WWE Smackdown lineup. Both Dillinger and Aries are on NXT, the developmental division for WWE.
The Future Stars DLC is the fifth expansion to be released for "WWE 2K17." The other DLCs rolled out for the game include Goldberg Pack, the NXT Enhancement Pack, the Legends Pack and the New Moves Pack.
The next DLC for "WWE 2K17" to expect is the Hall of Fame Showcase, which will come with some of the most iconic showdowns in the history of wrestling.
The playable matches include the Cactus Jack and Diamond Dallas Page vs. The Fabulous Freebirds (Jimmy Garvin and Michael "PS" Hayes) at the WCW Saturday Night 1992, The Fabulous Freebirds (Buddy Roberts and Hayes) vs. Kerry and Kevin Von Erich at the WCCW 1986 and Ivory vs. Jacqueline in SmackDown 2000.
The rest of the matches include Sting (in gold and black tights) vs. Ric Flair at the Clash of Champions 1988, Sting in n.W.o. Wolfpac ring gear vs. Bret Hart at the WCW Halloween Havoc 1998), Papa Shango vs. The Godfather, and the Big Boss Man (with Albert) vs. The Big Show at the Armageddon 1999.
Apart from the imminent arrival of the DLC, 2K Games is also bringing "WWE 2K17" to the PC next month. The long-awaited version is set to arrive four months after the console versions came out.
It will arrive on Feb. 7, a month earlier than the "WWE 2K16" PC version from last year. The desktop version for "WWE 2K17" will be offered in Standard and Deluxe Edition.
The former will come with the Goldberg Pack, which comes with a version of the former World Heavyweight Champion from the WCW and WWE in addition to WCW Monday Nitro and Halloween Havoc arenas. It is priced at $49.99, but those who preorder it will get a 10 percent discount.
The "WWE 2K17" Deluxe Edition for the PC comes with the complete Season Pass. This means that every DLC made available in the game so far will be at the player's disposal when they buy this version.
The system requirements were detailed by 2K Games on its website.
