When Does Daylight Savings Time End? Date and Time Clocks Go Back
Fall is officially here and people are wondering when Daylight Savings Time will end. However, it won't be happening for a few weeks yet in the United States, unlike in many other locations that have already moved their clocks one hour back, including Egypt.
For the United States, DST will be ending on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at 2:00 a.m. and clocks have to be moved back an hour.
For many years, the Daylight Saving Time practice has been criticized by many because they believe that it does not have significant positive effects on energy consumption. The practice roots from the fact that it helps activities that take advantage of the sunlight, such as sports and retailing. However, it causes problems for evening entertainment and other activities that happen during the night.
In many cases, the shifting of clocks for DST alignment causes issues such as travel problems, timekeeping confusion and even individual sleep patterns.
Some states in the United States, such as Hawaii and Arizona, do not practice DST. Over the years, there have been many attempts to abolish this practice, but they haven't been quite successful.
Meanwhile, DST ends on October 26 for the United Kingdom, Germany, France and other countries in Central Europe. In Australia, however, the clocks have been turned forward one hour last October 4.
