'Wentworth' season 5 renewal: Bea Smith to appear in some form?

There is a lot of talk with regards to "Wentworth" season 5 and how the fate of Bea Smith (Danielle Cormack) will affect the show from here on out.

The top dog was killed last season in her ultimate bid to stop Ferguson (Pamela Rabe), which fuels her beloved Allie (Kate Atkinson), who narrowly escaped death, to avenge her.

Although the death of Bea meant Cormack will no longer be in the show, rumors have it that she will appear in "Wentworth" season 5 either in a flashback or a dream sequence.

There is no information to corroborate that yet, but it is something to definitely be psyched for those who have been hoping to see more of Bea.

Cormack has been busy with her new four-part SBS crime drama miniseries "Deep Water," where she will appear in all four episodes. This appears to be the project that she did right after "Wentworth."

The question of whether or not the actress will be back in "Wentworth" season 5 in some shape or form as Bea is still something that it up in the air at the moment.

"Wentworth" season 5 will chronicle Alie's fight to make sure that Bea's sacrifice will not go to waste. It will also somehow usher the rise of Bea's successor as the prison's top dog.

With Alie leading the battle against Ferguson, it is highly likely that she will, in a way, take on the position that the love of her life left.

On the other hand, there are rumors going around that "Wentworth" season 5 will be the end of the series altogether. This is reportedly due to the plot's direction that led to the death of the protagonist.

There is no confirmation about that yet, but many fans were shaken about Bea's death in the fourth season although the show's popularity is no secret.

Its pilot episode became "the most watched Australian drama series premiere in Foxtel history" and it did not take long for the show to get a "Wentworth" season 5 renewal after it ended.

It is unclear if Bea's absence will also mean decrease in viewers although Cormack's character and performance are definitely something that fans admire.

"Wentworth" season 5 is expected to premiere next year.
