'Wentworth' season 5 air date news, spoilers: People will want 'justice' for Bea's death
A lot of "Wentworth Prison" fans were shocked when the show decided to kill their lead protagonist Bea Smith (Danielle Cormack). Rumor has it that the other inmates will be looking for justice following the character's death, and the showrunners are planning to keep the details of the fifth season a secret until the fifth season premieres.
In an interview with AfterEllen, Kate Jenkinson, who plays Allie in the show, says that the inmates will not take lightly the fate of Bea Smith. She says, "People are going to want revenge. Specific people [points at self]. If you want to see justice for Bea, then watch season five."
Fans speculate that Allie will feel guilty about not being able to save Bea. The two were just starting out a romantic relationship in the show, and Bea's death was obviously a blow, not just for Allie, but for the entire audience as well.
As for who will replace Bea in the show, rumor has it that the production will not be revealing anything until the fifth season of "Wentworth Prison" airs. A lot of fans have been guessing that she will be replaced by somebody already in the show, but the showrunners could bring in someone entirely new. Since Allie was Bea's love interest before she died, the story could have her as a new protagonist.
With Wentworth Prison losing its "top dog," somebody has to claim Bea's throne before anyone else decides to get smart. A lot of fans are still mourning her loss, and the show may not be the same after the departure of Danielle Cormack.
Will "Wentworth" be able to pick up after the loss of their main protagonist? Will Allie be able to get her justice? Only time will tell.
"Wentworth Prison" season 5 is expected to come out sometime in 2017.
