'Vampire Diaries' Season 6 Spoilers: Can Damon Alone Rescue Elena?

The "Vampire Diaries" Season 6 will be returning on screen on Jan. 22 at 8 p.m. on The CW, but we wanted to give you updates early on.

Enzo (Michael Malarkey) will continue to torment Stefan (Paul Wesley). We are about to find out exactly why he has been keen on hurting the younger Salvatore. In the upcoming episode entitled "Woke Up With a Monster," Damon (Ian Somerhalder) will finally find out whatever Stefan has been hiding from him as Enzo is about to find out the same from Sarah.

It might also be revealed to Damon that Sarah is the daughter of someone he killed back in 1994. However, it seems Damon already knows about Sarah but has kept it from Stefan. Stefan took care of Sarah since the death of her mother. He made sure that Sarah was with a good family. Today, she is an Art major at Duke University.

Meanwhile, Kai (Chris Wood) will be learning to control his magic. We remember him absorbing the magic from the Traveler's anti-magic border spell on Mystic Falls. He still holds Elena (Nina Dobrev) captive, but Damon will soon find out about it and save her.

The episode synopsis reads: "When Damon (Ian Somerhalder) discovers Elena (Nina Dobrev) has been kidnapped by Kai (Chris Wood), he is forced to rethink his strategy after an unexpected visitor throws a wrench into his plan. After bringing Sheriff Forbes (Marguerite MacIntyre) home from the hospital, Caroline travels with Stefan to North Carolina in search of a cure for her mother's cancer. Meanwhile, Stefan, who has his own intentions for traveling to North Carolina, is caught off guard when Enzo (Michael Malarkey) shows up demanding to know what Stefan is hiding."
