'Total War: Warhammer' patch news August 2016: Patch nerfs Devolve spell, fixes lags; Linux and Mac launch of game announced

Creative Assembly has released a hotfix patch for "Total War: Warhammer," which effectively nerfs the Devolve spell in the "Call of the Beastmen" downloadable content (DLC).

When the expansion pack was first released, the Devolve spell clearly showed domination in the playing field. The "Total War: Warhammer" patch should level it.

The patch also addresses more issues on the DLC, including the crash that takes place when they launch Custom/Multiplayer Battle lobby and on the Event Feed from the Multiplayer Campaign.

Thanks to the "Total War: Warhammer" patch, gamers will no longer experience the problem in the Chaos Invasion on saved games where making End Turn appears to be impossible.

The battle hang will no longer be an issue while trees will now be visible on the battlefield during the An Eye for an Eye program in "Call of the Beastmen." There will also some changes in the Victory condition of the program.

• Replaced the Major victory "raze 30 regions" with an objective to destroy Carroburg and Cult of Ulric.
• Lowered the raiding requirements slightly, making it slightly easier to meet the raiding requirements.
• Added "Destroying Middenheim" as an Ultimate Objective.

The "Total War: Warhammer" patch also allows players who do not have "Call of the Beastmen" to see the Lore of Beast and Lore of the Wild in the spell browser.

In other news, it has been announced that "Total War: Warhammer" is coming to Linux and Mac this fall. "This is the stuff of dreams," Feral Interactive managing director David Stephen said in a press release.

"The extraordinary gameplay of Total War matched with the fantastical universe of Warhammer is a match made in gaming heaven. We're incredibly excited to bring Total War: Warhammer to Mac and Linux," he continued.

"Total War: Warhammer" was released on Microsoft Windows back in May.
