'Thor Ragnarok' release date and news: Production wraps; Director Taika Waititi posts video of Chris Hemsworth, crew
Audiences right now are hyped for the release of Marvel Studios' "Doctor Strange" but another Marvel film, "Thor: Ragnarok" has officially wrapped. Director Taika Waititi posted a video of himself on the set, together with Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson and the crew.
The video was posted on Facebook and it had them standing in some sort of "space junkyard." The video also gave the audience a look at some of the costumes of the different characters and at Tessa Thompson's face-paint as the female superheroine, Valkyrie.
Twitter user b1gr1g actually posted some pictures of Thompson in full Valkyrie garb, and it featured her in a black suit and a small blue cape. The pictures also looked to be set in the same junkyard that Waititi and his crew were working in.
The blue cape is a signature element of Valkyrie's costume in the comics and she is actually a one-time love interest for Thor. Since this movie will not be featuring Natalie Portman's character, Jane Foster, it's quite possible that Thor (Chris Hemsworth) will be having some romantic tension with Valkyrie instead.
Rumors suggested that Thor will meet her in the gladiator-type arena run by the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum); it will also be where the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) is introduced.
The costume seemed to have less of the grey circles in the front, and the cape looked like it's only worn from one shoulder. The costume seemed to have less of the grey circles in the front, and the cape looked like it's only worn from one shoulder.
"Thor Ragnarok" will be the fourth entry in Phase 3 of Marvel's Cinematic Universe after James Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," and it hits theaters Nov. 3, 2017.
