"Thor" is easily one of Marvel's more recognized franchises along with "Iron Man" and "Captain America." "Thor: Ragnarok" is directed by Maui filmmaker Taika Waititi. Just recently, Waititi held an AMA ("Ask Me Anything") on Reddit and he took the time to answer fan questions and theories about his upcoming movie.

The Reddit thread has the heading, "I'm Taika Waititi, director of HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE and THOR: RAGNAROK. Ask Me Anything!" Sure enough, a lot of fans posted their questions and Waititi was pleased to answer them.

When asked about his approach for the film, Waititi wrote, "I made an effort to ignore the fact that there are other Thor films... I'm trying to ignore the rest of the universe and just make my own awesome movie."

Some fans have also asked him if "Thor: Ragnarok" will end up being the "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" of Marvel's Phase 3 lineup, to which the director admitted that he has not seen that movie.

Others are actually happy that Waititi is trying to create his own thing when it comes to "Ragnarok" since they feel that the MCU could use a fresher take on superheroes. His reputation on comedies may bring in something different for the world of Asgard.

Fans were also eager to ask Waititi questions like, "What's your favorite Marvel movie?" to which he answered, "Guardians of the Galaxy." They also asked him which character in the MCU his friend Jemaine Clement ("Flight of the Conchords") would play and he said that he would play Thanos — albeit losing the menacing quality of the character.

The thread is also filled with numerous comments about fans praising his most recent film, "The Hunt for the Wilderpeople" and his older work like "Boy" and "Eagle vs. Shark." Fans are also continuosly asking Waititi about his favorite directors and movies.

Taika Waititi's "Thor: Ragnarok" hits theaters Nov. 3, 2017.
