'Thor: Ragnarok' release date, spoilers news 2016: The Warriors Three appearing in film? Actors spotted in Australia

Filming for "Thor: Ragnarok" is underway, and it now appears that two characters from the previous two "Thor" films are coming back for the third.

With all the hoopla over the much-hyped new additions to the latest "Thor" stand-alone, including Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Cate Blanchett (Hela), Jeff Goldblum (The Grandmaster), Karl Urban (Skurge), and Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), not much attention has been given to the franchise's original participants, specifically the Warriors Three, Thor's (Chris Hemsworth) best friends and allies on the battlefield.

The Warriors Three — Hogun the Grim, Volstagg the Valiant, and Fandral the Dashing — appeared in the first two "Thor" films but have not been confirmed for "Ragnarok."

However, recent Instagram snaps from two of the actors playing the warrior Asgardians seem to indicate that Thor's pals are back for more action in "Thor: Ragnarok."

Last week, actor Tadanobu Asano, who played Hogun in the "Thor" films, posted a picture of himself enjoying a sunny day at the beach. The actor captioned the photo "Hello Australia." Incidentally, "Ragnarok" is currently being filmed at the Village Roadshow Studios in Oxenford, Australia.

The next piece of evidence for the Warriors Three's participation is an Instagram snap of actor Ray Stevenson, who played Voltstagg. In the photo, which was posted by PunkturedTattoo, Stevenson shows off a new forearm tattoo.

"Look who just stopped by our Gold Coast studio, to get some ink in between filming THOR! It's Ray Stevenson! Awesome work on the tatt Dai! #punkturedtattoo #tattoo #thor #raystevenson #punktured" the photo's caption reads.

While there is as yet no evidence that Zachary Levi, who played Fandral, is also in Australia, the actor hinted during last month's Comic-Con that he is involved in an upcoming Marvel film.

Meanwhile, Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki, recently took to social media to share a behind-the-scenes photo confirming the villain's return.

"Thor: Ragnarok" is heading to cinemas on Oct. 27, 2017.
