'This Is Us' season 1 episode 7 spoilers: Big Three to grow closer together as their parents grow further apart

“I love you as much as a human heart can, kiddo.” Jack (Peter Ventimiglia) tells his nine-year-old son Randall (Lonnie Chavis) to not be afraid to stand out in this week’s episode of “This Is Us.” | YouTube/This Is Us

"This Is Us" keeps its viewers hooked each week by revealing the Pearson family's inspiring dynamics and how it impacts their past and present. The same pattern will continue in next week's episode titled "The Best Washing Machine in the World."

The episode will feature a more in-depth look behind Randall (Sterling K. Brown) and Kevin's (Justin Hartley) rather distant relationship. Since the series began, it has been painfully apparent that the two brothers are not in the best of terms. Even as kids, Kevin has always been clashing with his adoptive brother. Next week will shed more light into their rocky relationship and the reasons behind it. It may even culminate in an eventual reconciliation as Randall tells Kevin in the latter part of the preview, "It's the first time in 36 years you've said the words, 'He's my brother.'"

What will cause Kevin to say those words? Will he be put in a situation where he'll have to defend his brother? Will this finally lead the two brothers to finally warm up and be closer to each other now that they are all grown up and have only each other to depend on?

Randall's wife Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) may also be warming up to her husband's biological father William (Ron Cephas Jones). But when their time spent together leads to the revelation of a secret that Beth feels her husband should know, their relationship may start to crumble before it even begins.

Meanwhile, Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Toby's (Chris Sullivan) relationship may once again be put to the test when Kate catches her beau straying from his diet. The same may be said about the Pearson parents Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) in the past, who will eventually acknowledge the growing distance between them after Rebecca gets back to work.

The biggest reveal about the series from a couple of episodes back is the Pearson patriarch's eventual death, which has led viewers of the show to speculate as to what could've possibly caused it.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Ken Olin revealed that they already know how Jack is going to die.

"It's a dramatic surprise that really impacts the kids," Olin said. "And I don't think that we will answer that question for a little while."

The next episode of "This Is Us" airs in two weeks on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 10 p.m. EDT on NBC.
