'The Vampire Diaries' season 8 spoilers, plot news: Extended trailer reveals Enzo and Damon's mission

The extended trailer for "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 revealed a little bit more about what the creature from the Armory vault wants from Enzo (Michael Malarkey) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder).

In the upcoming season of the vampire drama, Enzo and Damon were stripped of their humanity and will be on a killing spree although it looks like the latter is having much more fun than the former.

"When does this end? How many more bodies 'til you're full?" Enzo shouts to a pool, where they appear to dump bodies as seen in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 trailer.

It would seem that the pool holds the same creature that controls the duo. Damon then kicks Enzo to the pool to "get an answer" all that while he read "Fifty Shades of Grey."

It looks like the creature from the vault is having them kill people so it can get more powerful. Some of Damon and Enzo's brutal kills can be seen in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 trailer.

As the two increase their body count, Stefan (Paul Wesley), Caroline (Candice King) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) do their best to get them back.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will see Caroline use her ruthless side to learn more about the creature that possessed Damon and Enzo. Bonnie is willing to do whatever it takes to save the two most important men in her life.

Stefan, on the other hand, confronts his brother, who in turn warns him that "Once the devil comes a-callin', you're done." Regardless, Stefan will work had to bring Damon back to the way he was.

"He's very focused on trying to rescue his brother from this mess, understanding that the fallout of whatever it is that Damon has to do could impact his ability to be reunited with Elena (Nina Dobrev) one day," executive producer Julie Plec told Entertainment Weekly.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 premiere Friday, Oct. 21 at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
