'The Sims 4' latest news, release date: City-themed expansion pack coming?
A newly reported leak offers a glimpse of what the upcoming "The Sims 4" downloadable content will be before its speculated release later this year. Moreover, the new expansion pack for the Electronic Arts' life simulation video game will reportedly have city-themed features like food carts, city pads and penthouses.
If the said leak holds any credible weight, the rumored "The Sims 4" DLC may have already dropped major details ahead of its anticipated release this fall. However, the veracity of the said information remains questionable pending any official statement coming from the game publisher or the developers, namely, Maxis and The Sims Studio.
As reported by Movie News Guide, the leak purportedly broke out following a Twitter leak revealing a city-themed content for the game's third expansion pack. The tweet contained a screenshot from the website of the Brazilian Ministry of Justice, the regulatory body that filters all the video games being rolled out in Brazil. The post appeared to have seemingly believable details about the third DLC titled "Vida Na Cidade" ("City Life" in English). This report coincides with an earlier survey way back in 2014 hinting a similar DLC theme with a widely suggested title, "Metropolis."
In another in-community survey conducted by EA last year, it also revealed that "Metropolis" ranked high among fans' preferred titles for the planned expansion followed with other alternative titles such as "The Sims 4: On the Road", "The Sims 4: Get Real" and "The Sims 4: Rebuild." Per BitBag report, the city-themed DLC had a description stating, "Move into a bustling, modern city! Live in New apartments and penthouses eat food at carts and shop at street markets. Immerse your Sims in the different cultures of the city by exploring the many diverse neighborhoods."
Meanwhile, the reported leak has not offered any hint as to the DLC's release date. But if previous expansion launches were of any indication, game observers put the release window between October and December.
