Following Sunday's intense finale, "The Royals" might see a different side of Cyrus (Jake Maskall) when season 4 premieres.

Season 3 left off with Robert (Max Brown) being crowned as king despite the revelation that he isn't the perfect picture of integrity and honor that he has been praised as. With Cyrus no longer seated in the most powerful position, it is expected that he will do everything it takes to get the crown back.

Maskall recently caught up with Hollywood Life, and he revealed some teasers about the upcoming season. While the actor doesn't want to confirm if Cyrus will still fight for the throne, he said it could go either way.

"I think Cyrus has had his day as the king. He's loved it," Maskall said. "He's really loved it. Actually, it's something he never even dreamt was possible. I wonder if it will be about getting Liam on the throne. But, secretly, maybe at the end of the day, if he sort of thinks he can get Liam on the throne... there's always a possibility he could get the crown back, you know?" the actor added.

Meanwhile, fans are left wondering if Willow (Genevieve Gaunt) will marry Robert. The finale saw Robert give Willow an updated list of the candidates for his bride, arranged in order of preference. When she opened the list, she discovered that Kathryn's name had been removed, and hers had been written at the top.

In an interview, series creator Mark Schwahn admitted that like most viewers, he's "very protective of Willow." He teased that it's one of the highlights of season 4 as it keeps the fans guessing if the pair will end up together. Schwahn also raised the possibility of Robert treating her well despite his negative personality.

"It's something that gets you excited about a season 4, and it may get you excited in a very cautiously protective way... But we don't know how they'll be together. Robert may be incredibly good to her," Schwahn said.

E! has yet to announce a premiere date for "The Royals" season 4, but the series is expected to return later this year.
