"The Royals" season 3 is set to hit the small screens on December 4. Just recently, E! shared an exclusively peek into the upcoming installment along with some plot details to keep fans' anticipation high.

The third season of the intriguing drama will pick up action two weeks after the murder of Ted Pryce (Oliver Milburn), the Royal family's head of security, who turned out the be the brains behind the King Simon's (Vincent Regan) death. Old and new cast members are expected to be back for more intrigue, backstabbing, and romance.

According to E! Online, Elizabeth Hurley, William Moseley, and Alexandra Park will be back to reprise their roles as Queen Helena and twins Prince Liam and Princess Eleanor, respectively. Jake Maskall will be back as King Cyrus, Queen Helena's scheming brother-in-law and current ruler of the monarch while Tom Austen will be back to play Jasper, Princess Eleanor's on-again, off-again boyfriend and former security guard.

It will be recalled that an angry mob served their own brand of justice when they killed Ted after learning that he was responsible for robbing them of their beloved King Simon's life. The family he left behind, the queen and her children, as well as his brother, will struggle to re-establish themselves as worthy leaders, even as Helena struggles with problems of her own.

Showbiz Junkies reports that Queen Helena will do whatever it takes to prove that her twins, Prince Liam and Princess Eleanor are indeed King Simon's children and that they are the legitimate heirs to the throne. Meanwhile, her scheming brother-in-law, King Cyrus, will do everything in his power to make sure the paternity of the twins cannot be proved.

The publication likewise shares that Princess Eleanor will be torn when it comes to matters of the heart. She's in too deep and undeniably in love with Jasper, whom she knows was initially only interested in seducing her and stealing her fortune before he fell in love with her.

Meanwhile, People notes that Prince Liam will be bothered by Ted's controversial execution and will turn down a dark path, in the form of fighting a la "Fight Club," in an effort to cope with his anger.

"The Royals" season 3 is likewise expected to answer questions surrounding Prince Robert's disappearance. The prince has been presumed dead, although the season 2 finale revealed that he is, in fact, still alive. According to reports, Max Brown has been tapped to play the role of Prince Robert in the upcoming installment.
