Things are about to get worse for the Mikaelson clan as a new villainous vampire could be on his way to New Orleans come "The Originals" season 4.

A few months ago, it was announced that "Sleepy Hollow" alum Neil Jackson will join the series as a new vampire by the name Alistair.

Not much was revealed about the character except that he will mostly be connected to Klaus (Joseph Morgan), who is still being held captive by Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) when "The Originals" season 4 premieres.

Jackson recently took to Twitter to tease the nature of his character. Responding to the reports about his role being a villain, he played coy sand said, "Hmmm, maybe."

It looks like there will be a lot more for Klaus to worry about other than getting out of Marcel's grasp. That alone is a difficult thing to pull off especially with Marcel using all his resources to make sure he suffers.

As revealed before, Marcel will get the help of Sofya (Taylor Cole) in "The Originals" season 4. She is described as "a smart, badass" with skills that are highly sought after on the black market.

Marcel will make sure she gets her on his side by being the highest bidder. After all, Sofya's loyalty lies in whoever is willing to pay the top price for her services.

As for Klaus, he will still be behind bars when "The Originals" season 4 checks back in on him. This means that, in the spirit of the time jump, he has been suffering there for five years.

During these years, baby Hope has grown up (to be played by Summer Fontana). She is with Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), who left to find a way to help Klaus and the other Mikaelsons, who are trapped in some sort of a dreamscape.

"The Originals" season 4 premieres Friday, March 17 at 8 p.m. ET, the week after "The Vampire Diaries" airs its series finale.
