'The Originals' season 4 spoilers: Hope curious about her dad; Marcel and Vincent unable to handle new threats in New Orleans

Thanks to the five-year time jump, "The Originals" season 4 will see a massive shift in dynamics now that Hope is a major character.

The last time fans saw Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Hayley's (Phoebe Tonkin) daughter, she was only a baby. After what happened to the Mikaelsons, the former with baby Hope went on the run.

Fans will be able to check back in on the mother and daughter in "The Originals" season 4 this March. Summer Montana will now play the role of Hope.

"[Hope] is now 7 years old, she is smart, she is savvy, she understands what magic is and that she is extremely powerful. She has this curiosity about who her dad was, and is and will she ever see him again?" executive producer Narducci told Yahoo.

Klaus and Hope's relationship will be central in "The Originals" season 4. In fact, the new season will delve into how Klaus will do as a father to her.

"Can Klaus Mikaelson, in good conscience, be a father to this very powerful young witch who needs guidance and who needs a dad?" Narducci mused.

Meanwhile, without the Mikaelsons — Klaus is still imprisoned while Elijah (Daniel Gillies), Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic), Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Freya (Riley Voelkel) trapped in the dreamscape — Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) and Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) will be overwhelmed by the new threats in New Orleans come "The Originals" season 4.

"Powerful vampires and god-like creatures ... with powers we haven't seen before" will arrive in the city and if Marcel does not do anything, his reign could meet an untimely end.

Whether or not this will lead him to recruit the Mikaelsons once again, which means freeing them, in "The Originals" season 4 remains to be seen.

Spoilers have it that he will work with a new vampire named Sofya (Taylor Cole) whose kills are highly sought after in the market. The abilities she possesses could just be what he needs to deal with these new adversaries.

"The Originals" season 4 premieres Friday, March 17, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
