'The Originals' season 4 episode 2 spoilers: Mikaelsons break free from sleeping curse; Klaus reunites with Hope
Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) was successful in curing the Mikaelsons of their sleeping curse. Now that they're awake, Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and the rest of his siblings will be breaking Klaus (Joseph Morgan) out of his dungeon.
On the second episode of "The Originals" season 4, titled "No Quarter," Hayley's efforts in finding a cure for the Mikaelsons' sleeping curse will finally pay off, as Elijah and the rest of the family have awoken.
"After being cured and woken, the Mikaelson siblings join Hayley in an effort to rescue Klaus from captivity - even if they must face Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) in the process. Meanwhile, Klaus' demons materialize in unexpected ways as he suffers from the effects of the Tunde Blade, and Vincent (Yusef Gatewood) investigates a haunting that will prove to be much more sinister than he could have imagined," the episode listing on The Futon Critic reads.
Although Marcel is a big threat to the Mikaelsons, they will be successful in freeing Klaus from his dungeon. As seen in the episode 2 promo, Klaus will be reunited with Hope (Summer Fontana), and the two will have a very touching father–daughter moment.
"I'm going to keep you safe, always and forever," Klaus tells his daughter.
During an interview with Access Hollywood, Morgan shared that Klaus will realize his mistakes with his prodigal son — Marcel — which will serve as a lesson for him in being a father to Hope.
The actor added that "The Originals" season 4 will acknowledge this growth in Klaus and how it will impact his actions as a father to Hope.
Meanwhile, another focus on this season is Hope and her abilities. Executive producer Julie Plec confirmed that Hope carries powerful magic and inherited the werewolf curse from both her parents. Season 4 will explore the limits of Hope's abilities and how these powers will affect Hope as a child.
"The Originals" season 4 airs every Friday night at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
