There are barely three months left before 2016 closes, and until now, there's no word yet on when "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will be released. This early, and even without a confirmation from the game developers yet, fans are already excited to find out more about the game.

According to Nintendo, the response of gamers for the game has been overwhelming. In fact, the company regards "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" as a "boundary-breaking" new game in the series. Moreover, they have set a timeframe for the game's release on Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo NX, claiming that the game might come to both platforms next year.

To tide them over until the game's actual release, fans have been busy theorizing the gameplay, as well as other features of the game. A YouTube channel by HyperBoyGames even uploaded a video last July where he presented his concepts about the game. He talked about the possible identity of the Old Man at the beginning of the demo reel for "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" that was shown at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).

HyperBoyGames surmises that the Old Man might be royalty, considering the man's theme appeared to be a sped-up version of the Hyrule Castle Theme. On the other hand, he claims the Old Man could be one of the Seven Sages, as well as Hyrule's leader under the "Downfall Timeline."

iDigitalTimes notes that both the two aforementioned concepts could be ultimately linked. It further observes that the Old Man's appearance and royal lineage could explain a lot about him, and the fact that he could be Zelda's ancestor.

At any rate, anything about the game is based on mere speculations and must be taken with a grain of salt. Only when the game is released on the purported target year, 2017, will fans find out if the theories about the gameplay will be proven true.
