The Vah Ruta Dungeon in "Breath of the Wild" offers what "The Legend of Zelda" games are known for: puzzles and a hard-to-beat boss. As such, it is important for players to bring just about everything they can in order to beat the dungeon.

Vah Ruta is actually one of the four Divine Beasts — mechanized creatures that players need to control to cleanse the world of Calamity Ganon's influence. Players have to unlock terminals in order to manipulate them.

The first thing that players need to do when they enter the dungeon is downloading the map from the terminal on the left. There are a set of bars that prevents access to the terminal, but this can be dealt with using the Cryonis rune on the water to raise these up. Downloading the map will allow players to see where the five terminals within Vah Ruta are located. A treasure chest can be found in the same room, and it can be opened using Magnesis.

Players may encounter ooze while they're in the Vah Ruta Dungeon. This can be eliminated by shooting its eye with an arrow. Gamers will also need to deal with small guardians that will attack them.

The first terminal is located in the first room of the dungeon. On the left wall is a set of gears with a lever sticking out. Magnesis can be used to raise a platform with a Sheikah Slate pedestal. Running over there and placing the slate in the pedestal will activate the terminal.

The second terminal can be found on top of a long ramp found on the exterior of the dungeon. The Cryonis rune should be used to freeze the water shooting that's out to the pedestal. Once the water is frozen, players can then run over to activate the second terminal.

The third terminal can be found on the third floor, where the biggest gear in the dungeon is found. Players will need to use their Vah Ruta map to manipulate the mechanized trunk and use it shoot water toward the gear. Stasis should be used on the orange ball that is going up and down the pole to keep the terminal door from closing. This will allow players to gain access to the third terminal to activate it.

The fourth terminal can be found at the top of Vah Ruta's head. The Magnesis rune should again be used to turn the crank. This will cause a section of the ceiling to move. Players should open their map to use the elephant's trunk and douse the fire so that they can access and activate the last terminal.

The last terminal can be found at the top of the elephant's trunk. The trunk should be extended and rotated vertically. Players will need to use their Paraglider to get to the top of the elephant. The trunk should then be manipulated again so that it is positioned horizontally. Players should then drop to the side where the platform sticks out. The position of the elephant should be changed once again to make the platform flat enough, allowing the player to activate the terminal.

Once all five terminals are activated, the boss battle will start. Before confronting Waterblight Ganon, players must make sure that their heart containers are full and that they have enough food or elixirs that boost defense to protect them from damage because the enemy has the capacity to make one-hit kills. Arrows will also be very helpful in the battle.

Waterblight Ganon will first attack players using a spear. Players can counter this by attacking the enemy from a distance. Once he loses half of his health, the area will be covered in water, and only four platforms are available for players to stand on. Waterblight Ganon will then throw ice blocks to the player, so they must make sure that they have Cryonis equipped so that they can deal with these attacks. He can be shot with arrows in between his attacks. This strategy can be repeated until he is defeated.
