'The Incredibles 2' spoilers, update: voice recording begins
Development for "The Incredibles 2" is well underway. It looks like the script is already in place as the voice recording session has already begun.
The news comes from actor Samuel L. Jackson, who will be back to reprise his role as Frozone in the sequel. He shared a behind the scenes photo where the action takes place.
"It's about to go down ... First recording session for ... INCREDIBLES 2!!!!" the actor gushed in the caption of the photo. It is unclear if he was with other voice cast members.
In the past, there were rumors that claimed Frozone, who happens to be the best buddy of Mr. Incredibles and a close friend of the Parr family, will turn against them and become the villain for the sequel.
There is no way of knowing if this will be the case as the plot for "The Incredibles 2" is being kept under wraps. It looks like it will be a while before fans will learn more about it, too.
After all, the sequel will not come out until 2018. It was previously set for 2019, but the development for it was moving progressively that it had to be moved at an earlier date.
Asked about the film back in July, director and writer Brad Bird said that while he is taking "The Incredibles 2" to "new directions," fans will still feel at home in the story.
"Hopefully it's the same characters and feel, but going in a new direction. I mean, that's the trick with a sequel. It's repeating yourself, without repeating yourself," he explained to Entertainment Weekly.
Bird, who also provided the voice of fan-favorite costume designer Edna Mode, also said in the past that "The Incredibles 2" will focus less on power and more on how they react to these powers.
It is being rumored that the sequel will be set several years after the original so that Jack-Jack, who was just a baby in the 2004 film, will be older in the upcoming movie.
"The Incredibles 2" will hit the theaters on June 15, 2018.
