To say that Season 5 of The Good Wife is an eyebrow-raising collision of characters would be an understatement.

Things have not slowed down for Alicia Florrick (played by Emmy Awards winning actress Julianna Margulies). She is still mourning the death of Will Gardner (played by Josh Charles), a good friend and colleague.

Gardner's shocking death in Season 5 came much as a surprise, as Will played an integral role in the life of Alicia. The death became a trending topic on Twitter that Sunday night.

The upcoming season will pick up right where the Season 5 finale left off, which is when Alicia gets a proposal to be State Attorney.

While the premiere episode of the show is just a week away, spoilers never stop coming. In fact, fans anticipate some last-minute spoilers before Season 6 commences.

Entitled "The Line", the synopsis of the first episode of Season 6 reads, "Alicia is adamant about her refusal to run for State's Attorney despite Eli's attempts to persuade her to launch a campaign. Meanwhile, as Diane (Christine Baranski) considers joining Florrick/Agos as partner, an internal crisis threatens to destroy the firm".

A new character will soon be revealed, who is expected to make waves. Reportedly, David Hyde Pierce of Frasier will be appearing in some episodes as a news commentator. This will be his first TV appearance since his TV stint in Frasier last 2004.

Julianna Margulies won the Emmy Awards this year. The Good Wife is expected to generate more viewers because of its increasing popularity.

The Good Wife Season 6 is to be aired September 21, 9pm on CBS.
