In "The Flash" season 3, Team Flash member Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) has learned that her icy powers may have a more sinister side. As the season progresses, it has become more evident that she is losing control of her abilities and that a dark secret will soon be revealed.

Panabaker recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about Caitlin and her growing powers and revealed why the young woman is scared of them. According to the actress, Caitlin is terrified of becoming like Killer Frost, her Earth-2 counterpart. Caitlin met the villainous Killer Frost in season 2 and she doesn't want to become anything like her alternate self.

"She said to Cisco at the end of last season, 'I'm scared, I don't want to become her,' as she was suffering from her PTSD after everything with Zoom," Panabaker explained. "It is something that she's very afraid of and cognizant of and trying to avoid," she added.

In the latest episode titled "Monster," Caitlin sought her mother, Dr. Tannhauser (Susan Walters), for help in dealing with her newfound abilities. But Dr. Tannhauser was, as Caitlin previously said, "cold as ice." By the end of the episode, it had become clear that her powers may soon consume her and turn her evil, just as she fears.

Meanwhile, though Barry Allen/The Flash (Grant Gustin) appears to have chosen to move forward instead of going back in time, fans are still hoping that the show could return to the pre-Flashpoint timeline.

At the EW PopFest on Saturday, Oct. 29, "The Flash" executive producer Greg Berlanti said that he doesn't know if the series can still return to the original timeline, aiming instead to create new experiences for the show's characters."If we're not challenging ourselves and creating new territory and new obstacles for the characters, I think it's less rewarding to watch and probably less rewarding to play," he said. "We like to grow ourselves and grow our characters," he added.

"The Flash" season 3 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
