'The Flash' release date, cast news, plot updates: Actors who will play Iris West and Henry Allen cast; premiere to be delayed?
The actors to play Iris West and Henry Allen in the upcoming "The Flash" solo film have been cast. Meanwhile, there is a possibility that the premiere date of "The Flash" is delayed due to a shakeup at Warner Bros.
Although there is no director yet tagged to spearhead the title, "The Flash" is slated to premiere in March 2018 with Ezra Miller playing as Barry Allen, also known as The Flash. Of course, Barry Allen will not be complete without two of the most important people in his life, which are Iris West and his dad, Henry.
Variety reports that "Dope" and "Flatliners" star Kiersey Clemons has been tapped to play the tough journalist and special friend to Barry Allen, Iris West.
On the other hand, Entertainment Weekly reports that the actor who played Dr. Manhattan from "Watchmen" will be the one to play loving father to Ezra's Barry, Henry Allen.
Meanwhile, there might be a possibility that the premiere date of "The Flash" will be pushed farther because of an internal reorganization at Warner Bros.
In an interview with Deadline, former President of Creative Development and Worldwide Production Greg Silverman shared the 2018 line up of movies from Warner Bros. now that Toby Emmerich from New Line has taken over.
"Then in 2018, there is a second Fantastic Beasts film, and Ready Player One feels like an ambitious movie by the world's best filmmaker, Steven Spielberg, that will set the world on fire. There is Aquaman with James Wan, and Scooby Doo will be a huge launch and then there is Lego Ninjago. And then there is Ben Affleck's Batman," Silverman explained.
With no mention of "The Flash" and the presence of another Justice League member solo film in the lineup, it is possible that "Batman" will take over the 2018 slot. Since "The Flash" still doesn't have a director, the production of the said film will definitely be pushed back.
"The Flash" is expected to debut on March 19, 2018.
