'The Flash' movie release date, cast news, plot updates: Second director leaves production; Cyborg to appear in the film

The second director tapped to spearhead "The Flash" film recently dropped the project due to creative differences. Meanwhile, another member of the Justice League will be appearing in the title.

"The Flash" solo film featuring Barry Allen, who will be played by Ezra Miller, has recently lost its second director, Rick Famuyiwa, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The director, known for his movie "Dope," shared that he was excited to be part of the world of characters that he loved growing up and to work with Miller, who he described as "a phenomenal young actor," when Warner Bros. and DC came to him to offer the directing chair in "The Flash" film.

But unfortunately, Famuyiwa explained that "I pitched a version of the film in line with my voice, humor and heart. While it's disappointing that we couldn't come together creatively on the project, I remain grateful for the opportunity."

Famuyiwa followed the steps of Seth Grahame-Smith, who also did the film's screenwriting.

Meanwhile, The Flash will be teaming up with another Justice League member who will appear in his solo film. This is none other than Cyborg, who will be portrayed by Ray Fisher, according to Variety.

Cyborg's appearance in "The Flash" solo film might be an action to create interest in the character in preparation for a standalone "Cyborg" movie, which will possibly happen in 2020.

In an interview with Forbes, producer Deborah Snyder has already confirmed that Cyborg and The Flash will team up in the upcoming film.

"When we get to 'The Flash' movie, Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher -- who plays Cyborg -- are kind of our youngest characters, and they have a really nice comradery with each other. Ezra is super funny, so the tone of that film will be very different than the rest of them," said Snyder.

"The Flash" is expected to debut in March 2018.
