'The Division' DLC news: New Dark Zones, 'Last Stand' mode with PvP and PvE elements revealed
Ubisoft is dropping tons of exciting new content on "Tom Clancy's The Division" for its third downloadable content (DLC), "Last Stand."
The DLC also shares the same name with the new player-versus-player (PvP) mode coming to "The Division." While it is mainly session-based with a clear outline of the objectives and win conditions, the "Last Stand" mode will also feature player-versus-environment (PvE) enemies and Landmarks.
The official description for "The Division: Last Stand" DLC is as follows:
"When the situation in the Dark Zone escalated, as the outbreak spiraled out of control and all semblance of civilization collapsed, the Joint Task Force was forced to withdraw from the area, leaving behind important tactical terminals; SHD tech data relays loaded with operational information. Now, Rogue agents are closing in on those relays and if they manage to get their hands on the information, it would be catastrophic for the SHD and the mission to save New York.
It will be your job, together with a group of seven other Division agents, to stop that from happening."
This new "The Division" mode will include two teams of eight who battle for the control of the tactical terminals left by the Joint Task Force. The goal is to transfer enough information.
During a livestream held by the developer, it was revealed that there will be a major Dark Zone expansion in addition to "Last Stand." Ubisoft is adding Dark Zones six, seven and eight via the update 1.6.
They will be accessible through the northernmost section of Dark Zone six, which, players may have noticed, had gates that lead to another location, but "The Division" won't allow them to enter there. This will, of course, change when the update arrives.
Ubisoft also teased that the situation in these new Dark Zones is "is especially dire." Without getting into detail about them, the developer said there will be "a couple of surprises waiting for you in there."
"In total, these new areas — including all their vertical space, like rooftops and underground locations - almost double the playable size of the current Dark Zone," Ubisoft went on to tease.
"The Division: Last Stand" DLC, but it will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on the same day. When that will be, Ubisoft promises to announce soon.
