'The Batman' release date, news and updates: Catwoman will not be in 'Batman' solo movie
Aside from the release of "Justice League" next year, a lot DC fans are curious about Ben Affleck's solo "Batman" movie and which villains will be appearing in it. There are reports that Selina Kyle aka Catwoman is not in the script.
Sienna Miller reportedly wanted to star as Catwoman in the movie, but she was told that the character wasn't in the script in the first place. The news was reported by Erik Davis on Twitter who said that Miller herself told him that she wanted to be the DC Cinematic Universe's new Catwoman.
Miller recently worked with Ben Affleck on the period crime drama "Live By Night" which is set to come out in January 2017. Interestingly enough, she also shared filmography with Heath Ledger when she worked on "Casanova." Heath Ledger played the Joker in Christopher Nolan's "Dark Knight" back in 2008.
Other reports said that actress Teresa Palmer was set to play another Batman love interest, Talia Al Ghul in George Miller's "Justice League Mortal" movie. Palmer was said to have also expressed interest in playing Talia in the DCCU, but it looks like there are no current plans to have the character appear in the franchise.
Ben Affleck's "Batman" movie has been getting some buzz recently. Rumors have popped up that the movie has a terrible script and the producers at Warner Bros. refuse to fix. Fans however, still have faith in Ben Affleck as a director as he has proven himselfwith his work in "Argo," not to mention that he was universally praised as the new Batman.
So far, the only confirmed cast members who will be starring in the movie are Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, and Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke.
No official release date has been announced for Ben Affleck's solo "Batman" movie.
