Terminator Genisys Release Date, Cast News: Arnold Schwarzenegger Will Be Back Even at Nearly 70-Years-Old
Arnold Schwarzenegger will not be retiring from his Terminator role anytime soon as he is returning to shoot the follow-up to this summer's "Terminator: Genisys."
The Austrian-born actor would be nearly 70 by the time the "Terminator: Genisys" sequel is released. It is scheduled to be shown in the big screen on May 19, 2017.
Schwarzenegger has revealed that another installment in the franchise is set to be shot next year, even as Alan Taylor's "Terminator: Genisys" is still to be released in U.S. cinemas on July 1 and two days later in the U.K., The Guardian said.
"Yes, of course, next year," the former governor of California was quoted when asked if he will star in the sequel.
Schwarzenegger reprises the role of the T-800 cyborg in the "Terminator Genisys," the sixth time he is playing the character. His previous portrayal of the role was in 2009's "Terminator Salvation," headlined by Christian Bale as John Connor.
"Terminator: Genisys" still revolves around John Connor, Sarah Connor, and the killing machines. But the movie rewrites the rules of the first film. After both good and bad terminators are sent back to events before the original 1984 film, Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) arrives to save Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke), only to see that she is already "a hardened badass" raised by Schwarzenegger's T-800 character. They try again to change time travel rules in order to stop Judgement Day again, according to Den of Geek!
The film also includes Jason Clarke as John Connor and Doctor Who's Matt Smith in a mystery role.
According to a review of a leaked script of the film, the movie will be fast-paced but comedic as the T-800 tries to be nice by saying, "Nice to see you" and smiling to people, TheTerminatorFans.com has reported. The cyborg will also be continuously referred to as "Pops."
The new Terminator villain will also be "extremely advanced and is more of an evolutionary step upwards from the T-1000 than the T-X was."
However, the leaked script could be an "early draft," TheTerminatorFans.com clarified.
