"Tekken" is one of the most recognizable franchises in the fighting game genre and a lot of fans are excited for the arrival of "Tekken 7." Though no definitive release date has been announced other than the year "2017," Bandai Namco still managed to dole out more hype for the game. A new trailer for "Tekken 7" had been unveiled at the Tokyo Game Show this week and it showcased some new features of the game.

The video came with a lot of cinematic clips that have become the norm for the "Tekken" games and it exhibited the rivalry between Kazuya and Heihachi Mishima. Kazuya has always had it out for the man behind the "King of Iron Fist Tournament" and their battles get more intense as the franchise evolves around them.

The trailer also showcased some of the new characters that are joining the game. Among them are newcomers like Lucky Chloe, Claudio Serafino, Josie Rizal, Katarina Alves and Shaheen. There also looks to be another robot character arriving in the series by the name of Gigas.

Interestingly enough, a new character seemed to be linked to the Mishima Clan once more with the arrival of Kazumi Mishima. Anime fans can recognize that her costume looks akin to that of a Japanese shrine maiden, and a "Devil Kazumi" is also present in the game.

The most recognizable character coming to the series, however, is definitely Akuma from the "Street Fighter" franchise. Previous trailers hinted at a possible rivalry with Heihachi as well, and it looks like the two will have a closely linked story.

With the arrival of Akuma, fans can only hope that the franchise goes on long enough to introduce Ryu, Ken or Chun-Li to the world of "Tekken." "Tekken" characters have already crossed over to the world of "Street Fighter" when "Street Fighter x Tekken" came out, but fans might enjoy having "Street Fighter" characters fighting with "Tekken" mechanics.

Some fans are left a bit frustrated with an ambiguous release date for the game, but they can expect it to arrive sometime in 2017.
