'Teen Wolf' season 6 episode 11 spoilers: Lovecraftian horror to inspire final 10 episodes; is Dylan O'Brien coming back?
With only 10 episodes left going into the second half of its final season, MTV's hit teen fantasy series "Teen Wolf" is gearing up towards its final goodbyes — but not before putting its beloved characters through the wringer one last time.
The midseason finale saw the end of the Wild Hunt and the Nazi werewolf Mr. Douglas (Pete Ploszek). However, just when things have started going back to normal, the end of the school year was suddenly upon Beacon Hills High School, or at least, that was how it seemed to Stiles (Dylan O'Brien), who essentially missed the first three months of it owing to the Hunt.
With the seniors heading off to college — and the junior, Lydia (Holland Roden), to MIT because she's just that smart — the safety of Beacon Hills now lies in the able but reluctant hands of best friends Liam (Dylan Sprayberry) and Mason (Khylin Rhambo). However, this does not necessarily mean that Scott and the rest of the senior pack will be gone for good.
In an interview with TV Line following the midseason finale, series creator Jeff Davis teased an upcoming time jump covering a few months, which will usher a much darker narrative that gives a nod to H.P. Lovecraft's body of works.
"Scott and his supernatural friends become pariahs once again," Davis said. "They're feared and hunted. It's very much a season of fear," he added.
Davis further teased some "disgusting stuff" coming up, like the creature known as "The Faceless," which he talked about in another interview with Teen Wolf News (TWN). In its earliest rough form seen on a white board in the Teen Wolf Writers' room, "The Faceless" was a human face drawn in red with the skin seemingly melting off.
Additionally, a group of new faces will also be joining the returning list of actors, which, at the moment, includes most of the regular faces aside from O'Brien, whose appearance in the second half of "Teen Wolf" season 6 remains a subject of much speculation. TWN did mention that a source in the production team has confirmed that O'Brien will be returning "in some capacity."
"I will tell you that more people than I expected are showing up to say goodbye to the show," Davis told TWN. "It's really nice, kind of a testament to how much everyone enjoyed being in the show that they all want to come back," he added.
"Teen Wolf" season 6 returns on MTV in summer.
