After releasing a new song earlier this month, fans of the American singer-songwriter, Taylor Swift, have become more eager for the release of her next album. Will 2017 finally be the year that the popular music artist gives her Squad new songs to sing-along to?

"I Don't Wanna Live Forever," is a collaboration between Swift and former One Direction member Zayn Malik and is part of the soundtrack for the upcoming movie "Fifty Shades Darker." The slow electro jam has already sold 200,000 copies just on its first week out and is expected to continue its steady rise through the charts in the coming weeks. Swift reportedly co-wrote the song with hip-hop artist Sam Dew and Jack Antonoff.

It has been two years since Swift released her Grammy Award-winning album "1989," which became one of the quickest selling albums in recent history. Such a huge success needed an immediate follow up, but Swift's subsequent statement about wanting to take a sabbatical seem to have put things on hold for a little while.

However, a break did not necessarily mean a complete absence of music, as Swift later told Vogue that she would never stop creating music despite going on a break, and that she could just as quickly jump right back into the studio with new songs under her belt.

There have also been rumors that Swift's next album will contain a couple of songs about her most recent ex-flame, Tom Hiddleston, to whom she is believed to be sending drafts of her songs for approval and consent on the things she talked about regarding their previous relationship. This was according to an unnamed source who reportedly talked to OK! Magazine as cited by Gossip Cop.

However, despite these speculations, there is still no concrete news about an upcoming album from Swift in 2017, and fans are better advised to take every unofficial update about it with a grain of salt.
