Surface Pro 3 Windows 10-Ready; Updates Available From Windows
The Windows 10 update will soon be available for Surface Pro 3 users, according to Brian Hall, Microsoft's Surface General Manager, in his latest blog.
Surface Pro 3 is for people who would like to have a high-powered device that can work like a laptop but has the portability of a tablet, Hall says.
He says the Windows tablet is built for different types of needs.
"Wherever you are, you have a powerful, light, single device that can do nearly everything you need. Surface Pro 3 can replace your laptop and be a tablet," says Hall.
Hall also cites the Surface Pro 3 for improving the work systems of top organizations around the world like Coca Cola, Louis Vuitton, BMW and Cincinnati Country Day School. He also mentions the Lotus 1 Team and the University of Pittsburg Medical Center as among the companies that Surface Pro 3 has been a part of.
Hall says Surface Pro 3 has also been integrated in the workflow of Window's IT personnel. He says they have made the drivers and the firmware of the device available to IT teams so that they can create a unified corporate image. They also provide technical support to companies to help them achieve smooth-running operations, Hall says.
In terms of the OS, Windows 10 update can already be installed once the OS is released. However, it will still continue to support Windows 8.1.
Meanwhile, rumors about the release of the upcoming Surface Pro 4 have been circulating online. According to REM, Pro 4 is compatible with all of the apps in Pro 3 but will have the Windows 10 as its initial OS.
It is believed that Surface Pro 4 will be released in 2015. But, there are no confirmations from Windows about the release for now.
