'Supernatural' season 12 spoilers: Rick Springfield's stint coming to an end
"Supernatural" season 12 is currently on a one-week hiatus so it won't be back until next Thursday. The episode that will air that time will be "Rock Never Dies."
Here, Dean (Jensen Ackles), Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Castiel (Misha Collins) go after Lucifer who is still controlling rock star Vince Vicente (Rick Springfield).
In "Supernatural" season 12 episode 7, Lucifer tricks Vince's fans to come to his concert where they will not hear him rock out to his music, but rather meet their doom.
In order to stop him, the trio will have to "enter the underbelly of the music industry to try to stop him" as the synopsis for the episode teases.
This brings them to the concert itself where they do not come as spectators but as hunters who are looking to stop Lucifer. It looks like they will attack him onstage, a plan that may backfire.
Either way, the idea of Sam, Dean and Castiel attending a rock concert in "Supernatural" season 12 episode 7 excites fans and opens the door for some light and funny moments.
It appears that the trio will not be able to stop Lucifer just yet. Based on the synopsis of "Supernatural" season 12 episode 8, the devil will be looking for a new individual to possess.
"Lucifer's search for power and influence in a vessel lands him in the White House. The President of The United States (guest star David Chisum) unknowingly makes a deal with the devil," the synopsis reads.
This suggests that Springfield's stint on "Supernatural" season 12 will come to an end in episode 7. The guest star list for episode 8 also makes no mention of him.
Meanwhile, Lucifer hitting the White House, Sam, Dean, Castiel, Crowley (Mark A. Sheppard) and Rowena (Ruth Connell) will be forced to band together to stop him.
"Supernatural" season 12 episode 7, "Rock Never Dies," airs Thursday, Dec. 1 at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
