One by one, major plot details are being revealed for "Supernatural" season 12, the most shocking of all is Mary Winchester's return from the dead. What else is in store for fans when the highly popular series returns on air?

Mark Sheppard, who plays the role of Crowley, revealed important details about his character in the upcoming season. It can be recalled that in season 11, Crowley had a difficult time convincing the demons that he wasn't really allied with Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) and that he wasn't lower in status and position to Lucifer. After all, the demons saw Lucifer turn Crowley into a slave back when the former was still occupying Castiel's (Misha Collins) body as vessel.

Speaking to TV Insider, Sheppard revealed that Crowley will journey towards reclaiming his throne in "Supernatural" season 12.

"He wants to be in charge. But he has a few overpowering obstacles. Lucifer is the biggest one," the 52-year-old actor said during the interview. "That's his destiny. He likes to pretend he doesn't care, but he'd be a bit lost without the job. Maybe he's destined to fail, but it's so amusing watching him try to regain the throne."

The actor confirmed that Crowley will be unhappy in hell, but this unhappiness will not stop him from regaining control of something he believes to be his. Sheppard likewise admitted that Crowley missed his "bromance" with Dean, who was a demon, in essence, in season 10. So perhaps, fans will get to see a semblance of that bromance when season 12 returns.

Meanwhile, there are speculations that the relationship between brothers Dean and Sam (Jared Padalecki) will be tested when "Supernatural" season 12 returns. It will be recalled that the British Men of Letters captured Sam after the emissary they sent, Lady Toni Bevell (Elizabeth Blackmore), shot Sam in the chest. Now it's up to Dean to hunt down his brother's abductors and save him from their cudgels.

In an interview with Enstarz, showrunner Andrew Dabb said Dean will go through extreme lengths to find Sam. However, when they finally meet, they will discover they now have differing opinions about the Men of Letters.

"Initially, Sam is in trouble and Dean is extremely driven to save his brother. As this thing becomes more personal, and we come to understand the British Men of Letters and their point of view, our guys will have different reactions. I believe when the cards are down, Sam and Dean are on the same page all the time, which is to do the right thing. But what is the right thing for either one of them is not always agreed upon," Dabb explained.

Does this mean Sam will side with the covert organization once he realizes where the group is coming from? Will he be the Men of Letters' new recruit? That remains to be seen, as well as how the boys will react to their mother Mary's (Samantha Smith) return.

"Supernatural" season 12 returns on The CW on Oct. 13 at 9 p.m. EDT.
