'Supergirl' season 2 spoilers: Kara and James have a 'secret war'
It won't be long before Kara (Melissa Benoist) learns that James (Mehcad Brooks) has been running around National City as The Guardian in "Supergirl" season 2, but not before a little spat takes place.
Before the cat will be out of the bag, Kara and James will go about their daily lives as journalists. The former will be writing about Supergirl's latest act of heroism while the latter will pen a story in service of his alter ego.
"I'm writing my article on how amazing the Guardian is and how he stopped the crime, and Kara's writing her article about Supergirl," Brooks revealed to TVLine of the "Supergirl" season 2 storyline.
"We're having a secret war. It's just a little funny scene where both of us are trying to push our agendas," he went on to say.
When Kara does find out in "Supergirl" season 2 that James has become a vigilante by night, she will do so in "a very dramatic fashion," according to the actor.
As for how Kara will react upon learning the news, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg teased that it will be "explosive." Fans will also remember that Alex (Chyler Leigh) also knows about James moonlighting as a vigilante.
"I think that James was right to not tell her. He pretty accurately guessed her reaction to it, but what I think is interesting is while her reaction is explosive, it's also one of out of concern and love," the EP told Entertainment Weekly.
"She loves James and Winn (Jeremy Jordan) and when she does find out, she's worried for her friends' safety," he went on to say.
"Supergirl" season 2 will return tomorrow at 8 p.m. ET with "Supergirl Lives." The episode is directed by Kevin Smith, who was praised for his work on an episode of "The Flash."
The story involves the Red Sun, a new alien species and Mon-El (Chris Wood) and Winn suiting up to help Kara.
