'Suits' season 6 return date, news, spoilers: Mike to decline Harvey's offer

The second half of "Suits" season 6 returns tonight, and Mike (Patrick J. Adams) will turn down Harvey's (Gabriel Macht) offer to come back to the firm, but it might not take long before he does.

"Suits" season 6 picks up just after Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres) left the firm in episode 11, which was titled "She's Gone." Harvey and Donna (Sarah Rafferty) will try to get the firm back on its feet, and that includes trying to get Mike back.

However, in an exclusive sneak peek from E! News, Mike is seen rejecting Harvey's offer to come back to the firm to stay true to what he said to the jury while he was on trial.

Harvey will try to reason with Mike, but the once junior associate of Pearson Specter Litt will not be persuaded.

"I think he's really soul-searching, you know? He's taking a difficult road. ... He's adamant that he do something different with his life." Adams said, in response to his character's decision.

Adams shared that he's enjoyed playing this new Mike the most.

"He feels older and more mature and a lot more confident and a lot less nervous, but again the stakes are so high for him now because he's essentially starting over, trying to redefine who he is and what he wants and to convince the world to allow him to do work that, as far as they're concerned, this is an ex-felon who's just trying to make good on committing a crime," Adams explained.

However, it seems that the world may not be too kind to Mike, as his past in prison will taint his job opportunities.

Also, based on the episode photos from Spoiler TV, it won't be long before Mike comes back to Harvey and lend his hand in rebuilding the firm.

"Suits" season 6 returns on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 10 p.m. EST on USA.
