The spin-off for the major DC Comics movie hit "Suicide Squad" already found its brilliant scriptwriter. However, the film will reportedly not be an entire standalone film of Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) anymore.

Harley definitely captured the audience — thanks to Robbie's excellent portrayal — that it did not take much for Warner Bros. and DC Films to decide that they will let fans see more of her.

The well-loved villain is known for being The Joker's (Jared Leto) partner in the comics. But The Joker's few scenes in the "Suicide Squad" have put enough light to Harley that earned her the love and recognition.

In the comics, Harley was first seen in the comics titled "The Batman Adventures: Mad Love" released in 1994 as Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel, a psychiatrist in the Arkham Asylum who volunteered to look after The Joker a.k.a. Mr. J.

The Batman's arch enemy used his deceiving power and subsequently making Dr. Harleen fall madly in love with him. Later on, the psychiatrist helped The Joker escape the Arkham Asylum. Then, she became the most dedicated sidekick to one of the most notorious villains in the world of comics.

Recently, The Wrap reported that Warner Bros. and DC Films have already hired the perfect scriptwriter for the spin-off film, screenwriter Christina Hodson. This development clearly indicates that the production of a new movie with Harley is in the pipeline and on the move already.

The Wrap also noted that Hodson made her name into the industry as she produced the script of "The Eden Project" that was later on bought by Sony Pictures in a pretty good deal. She also created a script for the reboot of "The Fugitive" and was also confirmed to have written the script for "Bumblebee," the first-ever spin-off of the "Transformers" franchise.

Meanwhile, reports say that the anticipated Harley Quinn film will not be a standalone film and will instead adapt the "Birds of Prey" storyline that will feature several other female heroes and villains. Robbie will be producing the spin-off film.
