The long-dead Street Fighter character Charlie Nash has apparently been resurrected. In "Street Fighter V," he kicks Ryu and Chun-Li's butts as shown in the trailer posted on Tuesday.

"A Street Fighter legend is reborn," Capcom's latest trailer on the franchise showed.

Charlie Nash, who still dons his signature hair and eye glasses but now with a weird glowing gem on his forehead, is dangerously fast and strong like a Frankenstein. In his battle with Chun-Li, Charlie (or Nash, as he is known in Japan) is seen to be able to travel from point A to point B in a heartbeat, his opponent realizing the shift in his location way too late.

Den of Geek! said Guile's friend, who sacrificed himself to blow up Bison's headquarters, has "gone all Winter Soldier." In the second half of the new trailer, Charlie knocks out Ryu after evading the latter's hadouken attack.

His fighting style has also changed, with Den of Geek! attributing it to the gem on his forehead that looks like that of Gill and Urien in "Street Fighter III."

"While Ryu and Chun-Li have been shown to more or less be how you'd expect Ryu and Chun-Li to play, Charlie's mysterious transformation has certainly added a wrinkle or two to his play style. Not only does he have teleports, but he also has a move that works very similar to Akuma's Raging Demon. He also seems a lot more sinister in his pre-fight dialogue, outright threatening to murder Chun-Li," the game website said.

There were different versions of how the character died, including one in "Street Fighter II" where he was shown to have died in Bison's hands years ago with Guile dedicating his life to avenge his buddy's death.

M. Bison, the head of Shadaloo, also appears in the trailer, signalling his return.

"Street Fighter V" is available for beta-testing once players pre-order the game. No release date has been set, although Den of Geek! said the game might be available by next year.
