Capcom will reportedly attempt to redeem themselves and bring glory back to the "Street Fighter" franchise by launching downloadable content (DLC) for its latest title "Street Fighter V."

The video game developers launched their latest "Street Fighter" title earlier this year. The game is still exclusively available on PlayStation 4 consoles and Personal Computers, particularly for Microsoft Windows and Linux. Since the game launched, sales have relatively been low for the studio.

Gamers reportedly complained about the gameplay and the lack of features such as a story mode and a single player campaign. However, the developers eventually launched updates which contained the gamers' desires.

Along with the additional gameplay, several playable characters such as Ibuki, Alex and Juri were added to the title. Though fans started to appreciate Capcom's efforts, the recent update reportedly came with malware that posed as a security threat.

The studio only sold 1.4 million copies of "Street Fighter V." Their current predicament has led the gaming community to believe that Capcom is gearing up for a bigger surprise. Rumor has it that the video game developers are currently working on a DLC that would change their current situation.

Gamerant reported that Capcom is planning to release the DLC earlier than its intended launch date to make up for their losses. The news outlet noted that longtime fans of the franchise have expressed their support for the video game developers on various forums and social media platforms.

Furthermore, since "Street Fighter V" was limited to a few platforms, Capcom could channel the Xbox One market to boost their sales. The publication believes that the Xbox One market is pretty vast, since they outsold the PlayStation earlier this year.

Since Capcom has yet to confirm the latest allegations, gamers should treat the latest reports as speculation until proven otherwise.
