There are a lot of talks with regard to the characters coming to "Street Fighter 5" via a new downloadable content (DLC).

Fans can expect five new characters to join the roster. It is rumored that these fighters will be completely new to the universe, but there are details as to who they might be.

One of the characters expected to be in "Street Fighter 5" is Helen, who made an appearance in the cinematic story mode of the game. It is believed that she will be a full-on fighter next year via DLC.

Capcom also appears to be planning to resurrect Luke, a fighter who was bound to appear in the canceled "Capcom Fighting All-Stars."

The next "Street Fighter 5" DLC could also end up bringing Matthew McCoy and Goutetsu, who are both weapon specialists. The former is known to have robotic enhancements while the testament to the latter's power is having mentored Akuma and Gouken.

The final DLC character expected to join "Street Fighter 5" is reportedly a doll named Satsuki, which is controlled by M. Bison, which means nothing but trouble.

Of course, these reports are yet to be confirmed. Capcom is yet to reveal anything about the identities of its next DLC characters.

Last week, the developer rolled out its "Street Fighter 5" Season 2 update, which came with changes that filled a bulky patch note of 92 pages.

In other news, Capcom senior product manager Matt Dahlgren spoke about their plans on improving the development model of the game.

"We're always looking at how we can innovate on the series' model, while keeping an eye on how receptive fans would be to a new type of offering for a Street Fighter game. Street Fighter 5 innovated on the series' model by being a service-based platform, with earnable post launch content," he told Event Hubs.

"Even now, the price point of the main retail offering has dropped, which is essentially the starter version of the game. However, even if we come up with new models, we are still committed to our promise that the initial release is still the only version you'll ever need to own with all game updates and balance adjustments available for free," he went on to say.
