'Steven Universe' season 4 air date news: Five-episode Stevenbomb set to air in January

Five brand-new episodes of the much anticipated "Steven Universe" season 4 are coming in January, and it seems that more exciting things are afoot.

Cartoon Network's official Twitter page recently released an image captioned "This January, Steven's Universe gets a little bigger." What could this description mean? Could it be related to the "answers" that the upcoming episodes promise? Is Steven about to go on a journey that eventually leads them to the Palanquin that is featured in the image? What kinds of adventures does 2017 have in store for Steven and the Crystal Gems?

By now, fans of the show are used to its long hiatuses followed by a deluge of episodes aired in rapid succession. This format has come to be known as "Stevenbombs" and one is about to hit the small screen starting off with two new episodes on Monday, Jan. 30.

In "Steven's Dream," the show's main protagonist is driven to search for answers by a strange dream he has, while in "Adventures In Light Distortion," Steven and the Crystal Gems will be taking off on a search and recovery mission.

The following day, Jan. 31, will air the show's third episode back in 2017 titled, "Gem Heist," which features the Crystal Gems attempting to pull off a heist. Wednesday, Feb. 1 will see Steven visiting a special zoo in an episode titled "The Zoo."

The final scheduled episode titled "That Will Be All" airs on Thursday, Feb. 2. In this episode, Steven and the Crystal Gems will be making a daring escape. No further details have been given, which leads fans to believe that the show may be taking on a more serious approach to its episodes as it brings Steven closer to the pink Palanquin in the Twitter image, which is speculated to belong to the infamous Pink Diamond. Will Steven also discover the connection between the Pink Diamond and his mother, Rose?

The truth, or perhaps part of it will be revealed in the upcoming January Stevenbombs which will air on aforementioned dates starting at 7 p.m. EST on the Cartoon Network.
