'Steven Universe' season 4 air date and rumors: Lapis and Peridot to fuse? Next arc focuses more on Rose Quartz
Though "Steven Universe" may be on hiatus right now, fans of the show are still quite excited to find out more news about Rebecca Sugar's hit series. Recent speculations have guessed that the next episode in the series, "Gem Harvest," will have Lapis and Peridot fusing for the first time. In other news, Sugar herself teased that the next big arc for the show will focus more on Rose Quartz, Steven's mom and the leader of the Crystal Gems.
Fans speculate that "Gem Harvest" will see a fusion between Lapis Lazuli and Peridot finally happening. Though Lapis has already fused with Jasper previously, Peridot has yet to come to terms with fusing with another gem. Hopefully the episode will finally see the fusion happening between barn mates.
In other news, Rebecca Sugar had an interview with The Wrap, and she was asked if the show will be delving into Rose Quartz and her shortcomings, as well as Greg playing a role in the upcoming episodes. To that, she merely said, "Oh, yes! That's all I'll say!"
Though Rose Quartz has often been portrayed as a motherly lover of life, the previous season has revealed that she was responsible for the demise of one of the lead diamonds, Pink Diamond — much to Steven's disbelief.
The unique thing about gems is, though their physical forms can be damaged, they will be fine as long as their gems remain intact. The only way to truly destroy a gem was to shatter them — a technique that former Crystal Gem ally Bismuth wanted to try on the diamonds. Steven didn't want to shatter any of their enemies, but seeing that there was no changing Bismuth's mind, he had to put her gem back inside a bubble. It was quite shocking for Steven to find out that his mother had shattered someone as well — a diamond no less.
Hopefully the show will reveal more to the audience about Rose Quartz and what led her to destroying one of the diamonds.
The next episode of "Steven Universe" is said to air on Nov. 25, 8 a.m. EDT, on Cartoon Network.
