'Star Wars: Episode 8' rumors, spoilers: Luke Skywalker's dialog may have been leaked
There was a feeling of exhilaration when the man behind the legend finally appeared standing near the edge of a cliff in Ahch-To. Rey (Daisy Ridley) has found the man the Resistance has been searching for so long. Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) was finally in front of her, but "Star Wars" fans were left dumbfounded when he didn't utter a single word to her before "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" ended.
But not as dumbfounded as Luke, apparently. He just stood there and gaped at Rey like he couldn't believe what he was seeing. It seems that there was so much to say but the words were left unsaid when the movie ended abruptly. Fortunately for fans, there is a possibility that one of Luke's lines may have been leaked. YouTuber Mark Zeroh recently reported that he heard from multiple sources that a trailer for "Star Wars: Episode VIII" has been cut, and it contained a single line from Luke:
"You contain the spark that will rekindle the fire."
Sounds like words of hope coming from a Jedi Master to someone who can "bring balance to the force." Well, it's something Yoda (Frank Oz) would say.
Back in July, Hamill told the crowd at the Star Wars Celebration that writer/director Rian Johnson wrote some amazing lines for the film.
"I was looping Episode VIII yesterday, and there's dialogue in there, and I thought, 'Oh boy, I can already see this on a T-shirt. Rian Johnson is amazing. He'll make you forget all about 'May the Force be with you.' He's come up with so many new catchphrases."
Could this be one of those catchphrases he was talking about? It could be. However, this rumor hasn't been verified yet, so fans are advised to take it with a grain of salt.
"Star Wars: Episode VIII" is scheduled to premiere on Dec. 15, 2017.
