'Star Wars Battlefront: Scarif' will be a DLC that ties in with 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story'
As of now, fans are focused on the release of "Star Wars Battlefront: Death Star," but there is news that DICE plans to release another expansion as the release date for "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" draws near. The downloadable content (DLC) will be called "Rogue One: Scarif," and the story of the campaign will tie-in to the next upcoming "Star Wars" movie.
According to Uproxx, "Rogue One: Scarif" will be set in some kind of jungle planet, very similar to the images in the "Rogue One" trailer. The expansion will also let characters take control of two new heroes, Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) for the Rebel faction and Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendehlson) for the Imperials.
There is also news that the "Death Star" expansion will come with a free PlayStation VR X-Wing mission where players can take control of the game within the cockpit of an X-Wing. EA has revealed that the mission will be "Rogue One"-themed, but it is not clear at which point in the "Rogue One" timeline it takes place.
With the available heroes being Jyn and Krennic, fans can only hope that DICE continues to pump out more expansions based on "Rogue One." The show has numerous characters that look like they have their own specialties in the battlefield like Donnie Yen's Chirrut Imwe, Diego Luna's Cassian Andor, and Wen Jiang's Baze Malbus. Even Alan Tudyk's droid character K-2SO looks like he has a few tricks up his sleeve.
The Imperial faction could even give players a chance to use Krennic's special troop of Death Troopers.
As of now, there aren't many details on what the expansion has to offer, but fans can expect it to have the same beat as another expansion that came out, "Jakku," which ties "Battlefront" in with "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."
Fans can expect "Scarif" to be released sometime near December.
