'Star Wars: Battlefront' Scarif DLC release date news: DLC brings players to a tropical world in 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story'
This December will see the release of Gareth Edwards' highly anticipated "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," and at the same time, DICE Games will be releasing the final downloadable content (DLC) for "Battlefront" called "Scarif."
According to reports, the DLC will be bringing players to the tropical world of Scarif which will be introduced in "Rogue One." This will be the last DLC coming to "Battlefront" as the developers will be making "Battlefront 2" which focuses on the timeline of the new trilogy that was started by "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."
Like other DLCs before it, "Scarif" will feature two new heroes that will be fighting for each side. For the Rebel Alliance, they will be able to take control of Felicity Jones' character, Jyn Erso. The Imperial side will be able to use Ben Mendelsohn's character, Director Orson Krennic.
There has been no news on any of the character's skill sets, but some fans have been eager to see if "Scarif" will let players take control of Krennic's specialized Deathtroopers or any other members of Erso's Rogue One Squadron like Donnie Yen's blind monk Chirrut Imwe or Alan Tudyk's military droid, K-2SO.
As of now, the only way players can get their hands on the game is to purchase the season pass which costs about $50. The pass will also let players gain access to all the other DLCs for the game like "Bespin," "Outer Rim" and "Death Star." It will save the player up to $10 as buying the DLCs individually will cost $60.
For people who still don't own the game, there's still a chance to buy the "Star Wars Battlefront: Ultimate Edition" which will contain all of the DLCs. All of this combined will give players 30 maps, 14 heroes, and 14 game modes.
No specific release date has been revealed, but fans can expect the game to arrive close to the "Rogue One" movie release date on Dec. 16.
