'Star Wars Battlefront DLC' gameplay news, air date: final DLC available on Dec. 6 for season pass owners
Electronic Arts, game publisher for "Star Wars Battlefront," recently revealed the release date for the final downloadable content (DLC) of the action shooter video game. According to EA, the final extension for season pass owners will be launched on Dec. 6.
Just in time for the holidays, season pass owners will be able to get their hands on "Star Wars Battlefront: X-Wing VR Mission" when it is launched exclusively on the PlayStation VR. For others, they will have to wait until Dec. 20 to play the game. The upcoming DLC, which will have a "Rogue One" theme, is inspired by the franchise's spin-off film that will hit theaters on Dec. 16.
In the DLC, "Rogue One: Scarif," gamers will get the privilege of living out their "Star Wars" fantasies. Players will be able to pilot an X-Wing and attempt to destroy the Death Star.
Two characters from the spin-off film will be featured in the DLC. In particular, the game will introduce the show's heroine Jynn Erso, who will be portrayed by Felicity Jones in the movie, and Orson Krennic, who will be played by Ben Mendelsohn.
Scarif is the name of the planet where the game takes place. Four new maps will be introduced in the title. A number of vehicles which will be featured in the upcoming film are also expected to appear in the DLC, which includes an Imperial tank, a Rebel U-wing Fighter, TIE Striker, and AT-ACT.
Last week, EA launched a trailer for "Star Wars Battlefront: Ultimate Edition" and it showcased the four DLC packs in the title, including the latest "Rogue One"-themed expansion. The Ultimate Edition consists of the original game, the season pass, the four expansion packs with over 30 maps, 14 heroes and 14 different game modes.
Stay tuned for more updates on the final DLC of EA's "Star Wars: Battlefront."
